Fundraising

The band is looking for new ways to raise funds as we have a very busy time ahead.
September 2007 sees the band competing in the National Brass Band Finals for the second year running.  We have decided to stay overnight again at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate which means we will need around £2k.

As well as the finals the band is travelling to Lake Garda in July 2008 for an 8 day tour, where we will be performing three concerts around the area as well as trips to Venice and Verona which will hopefully include a trip to the opera in the magnificent amphitheatre

Our major events for raising funds this year include various social evenings, the first being a quiz last Saturday which took place at the band room.  Over 40 members and friends attend at the evening raised £120.00 as well as a great laugh.

At the Brighouse Gala last year with our coconut shy and tombola stall we raised an impressive £1,310, this was boosted by a donation from Barclays Bank to £2,060. Thanks must be expressed to Julia and Rob Wood for their work.

We are hoping to do as well this year, so if you come to the Gala please come and have a look at us.

We have also booked the Charity Stall in Halifax which is situated outside the Library, this will be held on Saturday 21st July, again please come and support us.
